Ways of thinking that will help you get more from your life, learning’s about relationships, communications and leadership. Strategies that will help you overcome fearful situations, skills for changing old habits and achieving personal congruence. All of these and more can be found in the practice of Karate-do. After a few years of non-activity, he picked-up his training in martial arts when he began training in Shotokan Karate under the then SKIF(Kanazawa-Ryu) Malaysia Chief Instructor Vince Choo Sensei, 5th Dan (currently Kissaki-Kai Malaysia Chief Instructor), in 1995. In October 2006, after moving to Melaka, he joined up with International Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Seibukan Karate-Do Association to continue his study and practice of karate. He has had the opportunity to train with reknowned karate masters such as Hirokazu Kanazawa Kancho (10th dan, SKIF), Manabu Murakami Sensei (6th Dan, SKIF), Toshiaki Namiki Sensei (8th Dan, JSKF), Kenji Kusano Sensei (Kusano-Ha Shito-Ryu), Vince Morris Sensei (8th Dan, Kissaki-kai), Okamoto Hideki (8th Dan, JKA), Ueki Masaaki (8th Dan, JKA), Tatsuya Naka (6th Dan, JKA), Takenori Tanaka (8th Dan,JKS), Mikio Yahara (8th Dan, KWF), to name a few. Azlimmi Himzal who studied Architecture at the Ungku Omar Polytechnic, Ipoh, Malaysia and History at Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, was a former fitness instructor with Clark Hatch Fitness Centres Kuala Lumpur before joining one of Malaysia’s top designer furniture retailers, X-Tra Furniture Sdn Bhd as Advertising & Promotions Executive. In 2001 he then joined a local import company as the Assistant Manager for Operations & Warehousing. In 2005 he moved to the historical city of Melaka, to be closer to his family. In March on 2003, he started Seiken Self Defence Institute as a place for like-minded karate-ka to come learn and practice their art without the constraints of politics or style. Unfortunately, he had to close the doors of his dojo a year later to concentrate on work. In June 2006 he started classes for the revived Seiken, under guidance of Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Seibukan Karate-Do Association of Malaysia Batu Berendam, Melaka. In mid-2008, due to differences in future direction of the Academy and in approach to training, Azlimmi left to join the KWF. Azlimmi currently dedicates himself full time to the growth and expansion of the Academy and to traditional karate-do. Anyone experiencing withdrawal symptoms from lack of training can drop by the dojo or call Azlimmi at +6.01.2.606.7454 for a training date.
